How has ISM benefitted Deborah Walker?
"My experience in ISM helped me to get into my university's honor's program and graduate school. ISM also helped me to prepare myself for the rigor and material in university. ISM also provided me with incredibly valuable professional relationships that have helped me with internships."
What was a challenge they faced and overcame?
"I developed a benign but symptomatic brain tumor when I was 12, and by the time I was in high school and college, it greatly impacted my academics and I had to have brain surgery during the middle of my freshman year of university."
Advice
"Take the ISM experience seriously, start early on everything, and think of the experience as a precursor to college. Get used to the self-pacing and independence now."
