How has ISM benefitted Tanner Morgan?
"The experience and knowledge I gained from ISM gave me the opportunity to enroll in an EMT course at Collin College as a senior. Personally, throughout ISM, my confidence grew tremendously as I gave presentations and met with professionals in my field of study."
What was a challenge they faced and overcame?
"Going into ISM I was terrified of presenting and talking to people professionally, however, I was quickly thrown into the deep end at the start of ISM and had to overcome these fears as quickly as I could. I soon became more confident in myself and how I presented myself, now, I am able to be confident when I meet new people, meet with professionals, and give presentations."
Advice
"As you go and explore your field, you have to be confident in yourself, know what you are talking about, and make your name known. When you go to meet with professionals, you don't only have to act confident, but you have to be confident. You need to do as much research as you can before talking to professionals as going into your field knowing what you will be talking about is impressive and gives you the opportunity to focus on how the job is done, not what the job is. Lastly, leaving a lasting impression on those you meet is important because who knows, you might be asking them for a job later on."
